As a teenager struggling with insecurity and being overweight, I found my way into a local boxing gym in my hometown. From the moment I stepped inside, I was embraced by a community of supportive teammates and dedicated coaches. With their guidance, I not only improved my skills but also gained the confidence and fitness I had been lacking. Boxing became a transformative experience, and I eventually began competing, which I continued to do for many years.
During my college years, I had the opportunity to coach my University’s boxing club, where I discovered my true passion for training others. Helping fellow fighters unlock their potential and reach their goals gave me a sense of purpose that has only grown stronger over time.
After years of working in corporate America, I returned to my first love—boxing. I decided to fully transition from competing into coaching and fulfilled my lifelong dream of opening my own gym. My mission is to create a positive, inclusive community where people can train, grow, and transform just like I did in my hometown gym.
Growing up in a multicultural environment, I faced my own challenges with self-confidence. What started as an intimidating and brutal sport soon became a life-changing journey. Boxing helped me find my inner strength, and that passion for the sport ignited my desire to teach others how to unlock their own potential.
Training in gyms across London, the Philippines, Thailand, and the U.S., I’ve gathered a wealth of experience that has shaped me into the coach I am today. I’ve also had the privilege of participating in exhibition fights in Tampa, Florida, as part of the Hector Macho Camacho Promotions.
My goal is to inspire and empower fighters to discover their confidence, sharpen their skills, and reach new heights in their boxing journeys.
I discovered boxing while in college at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, feeling homesick and searching for a way to channel my energy and passion. What started as a simple hobby quickly became a way of life. My competitive drive pushed me to give everything I had to the sport, and that dedication paid off when I won a collegiate national championship.
More recently, I stepped back into the ring as a professional, competing in a high-profile bout against Emmanuel Pacquiao Jr. That experience continues to shape how I approach training, preparation, and performance.
In my years since competing as an amateur boxer, I’ve shifted part of my focus toward coaching and had the honor of mentoring multiple college team through numerous boxing events. One of my proudest moments was coaching a female 119-lb collegiate national champion - the same tournament I had won years earlier.
With a deep understanding of the sport’s intricacies, I study boxing intentionally. I aim to help others appreciate the art of boxing while passing on the valuable lessons it has taught me.
I’ve been boxing for the past 4 years and coaching for 2. My journey started during the pandemic when I was looking for a new challenge. What began as a way to pass the time quickly turned into an all-consuming passion and as my love for the sport grew, I knew I wanted to take it to the next level. That’s when I started training with a serious focus and set my sights on competing. In 2022, I fought in the Chicago Golden Gloves Tournament, with plans to continue my competitive journey.
Alongside my personal training, I’ve coached and mentored friends, peers, and anyone interested in learning boxing. I’ve also spent the last 2 years coaching at local kickboxing gyms, expanding my expertise and knowledge in combat sports.
I started training martial arts when I was 9. It was a decision my parents made for me and in the beginning I hated training. I was unmotivated, undisciplined, and not at all athletic. Over the years I’ve been surrounded by great teammates and coaches who invested their time in helping me progress. My perspective had completely changed thanks to these people, I started to enjoy training and became confident in the skills I was able to develop.
The new love for training made me want to compete and test myself. My first competition was boxing in the Chicago Park District exhibitions when I was a teenager. When I was 18 I began competing in local muay thai competitions. I’ve since competed in local and national muay thai tournaments, continuing to see how much farther I can grow.
My fitness journey started at a young age, when I was always climbing, jumping, and challenging myself in any way I could. That adventurous spirit hasn’t changed! Today, I bring that same energy into my training sessions, making sure every class is both fun and challenging for my clients.
I’m deeply committed to helping my clients achieve their fitness goals—there’s nothing more fulfilling than watching them overcome their personal challenges.
